This is a d3 version of a Wind Map, a fantastic idea by David Curran. A plotter pen is pushed by the wind over a canvas, revealing which way the wind blows.

The data comes from Weather Underground and is as measured at the Reykjavík Airport which is conveniently located near the heart of the city.
